On July 15, TVXQ’s Yunho appeared as a guest on MBC’s Radio Star and talked about various topics.
In particular, he directly addressed his past acting controversies. Since beginning his acting career in 2009, he has received a new evaluation of his acting last year with his role in Disney+’s Low Life.

He shared a behind-the-scenes story about his casting process, confessing that he attended a script reading, not realizing it was an audition, and was criticized for his lack of preparation.
He asked for one more chance and headed to Mokpo for two weeks to study the area and its dialect.

He added that even after landing the role, he continued to put in effort.
I memorized the entire script to see how I would interact with the senior actors. The seniors and the director were surprised by that.
— Yunho

Actress Kim Sung Ryung, who was also a guest on the show, could not hide her amazement at his efforts.
Of course, I am surprised. I’ve never seen anyone do that before.
— Kim Sung Ryung
He also brought up the past controversies about his acting.
As I mentioned last time I was on the show, there is no place lower I can go when it comes to acting.
— Yunho
In terms of the famous line that received criticism, he stated, “I memorized the entire script back then, too. I just didn’t know how to act.”
