The story was shared during the August 1 broadcast of MBC’s variety show Omniscient Interfering View, Episode 409, which continued following Park Jin Young‘s daily life from the previous week’s episode.
While having a meal with his staff, Park Jin Young admitted, “It’s exhausting when people try too hard to impress me.”
He continued, “The very first employee I hired was Bang Si Hyuk. He never tried to win my favor, and that made me feel comfortable. When the person in front of me is comfortable, I feel comfortable too. The moment someone starts trying to impress me, that’s when I become uncomfortable.”

Park Jin Young also took the opportunity to offer advice to his employees. “I’m demanding when it comes to work, so I believe difficult tasks should be difficult. That’s how you learn,” he said. “But one thing should never happen—your work should never depend on my mood. Those are two completely different things.”
He added, “When you first start working, it’s natural to be inexperienced. It’s my responsibility to teach you how to work carefully and avoid mistakes, so I’ll keep giving you feedback. That kind of challenge is necessary. What isn’t necessary is feeling anxious because you’re constantly trying to figure out what mood I’m in. That’s something you should never do.”
