A new Korean drama is taking over social media thanks to the unexpectedly handsome visuals of both its male and female leads.
The “girl disguised as a boy” trope was once a signature formula of classic K-Dramas, producing countless iconic hits. Although the concept has become less common in recent years, many fans still adore the genre for its mix of comedy, tension, and forbidden-romance chemistry — especially the moments where the male lead unknowingly falls for someone hiding their true identity. Because of that, the moment tvN announced Love in Disguise, the series immediately attracted major attention and was quickly predicted to become one of the biggest K-Dramas of the second half of 2026.

The upcoming drama is based on the popular web novel and webtoon Why Don’t You Know She’s a Woman? and follows Yoon Yi Jun, played by Im Si Wan. He is the cold and flawless third-generation heir of the Taegang conglomerate, known for his perfect image and intimidating personality. Behind that polished appearance, however, lies a series of suspicious secrets after he becomes the prime suspect in a mysterious murder case and ends up under close police surveillance.
Opposite him is Kang Jae Hee, portrayed by Seol In Ah, a former special forces officer assigned to secretly investigate Yi Jun. To infiltrate the dangerous world surrounding the chaebol heir, she disguises herself as a man and becomes both his secretary and personal bodyguard. From there, chaotic and emotionally charged situations begin to unfold as the line between investigation and genuine feelings slowly disappears.

Beyond its crime storyline, Love in Disguise is already generating buzz for its combination of popular tropes: the leads staying together 24/7, the suspect-versus-investigator dynamic, and a romance built on suspicion, secrets, and danger. With its blend of thriller elements and romantic tension, the drama has quickly become one of the most anticipated upcoming series among K-Drama fans.
As soon as the first promotional images were released, social media exploded with reactions — particularly over the visuals of the main cast. While Im Si Wan perfectly embodies the cold, dangerous, and charismatic chaebol archetype, it was Seol In Ah who completely stole the spotlight with her convincing male disguise.

In the drama, Im Si Wan appears with the classic chaebol styling: softly parted hair framing his pale features, sharp visuals, and elegant tailoring that give off an effortlessly intimidating aura. Wearing a deep wine-red velvet suit paired with a black shirt, he radiates the energy of a mysterious “red flag” character viewers cannot resist.
Still, many fans believe Seol In Ah overshadowed everyone in the newly released stills. With short hair, black-rimmed glasses, and delicate yet boyish facial features, the actress has been praised for looking like a real webtoon male lead. Her visuals reminded many viewers of the cold, handsome school princes often seen in Japanese youth dramas and romance comics.

Across social media, both fangirls and BL drama fans have been openly swooning over Seol In Ah’s transformation. Many viewers joked that this might be one of the rare cases where a female lead disguised as a man is so convincing that audiences fully understand why the male lead could realistically “question his sexuality.”
Netizens also flooded online communities with comments such as:
“Wait… this isn’t a BL drama? I feel tricked.”
“Seol In Ah looks ridiculously handsome.”
“She’s pretty, but she’s also unbelievably cool-looking.”
“I honestly thought Im Si Wan was starring in a boy-love drama at first.”
“Im Si Wan’s shady chaebol vibe is absolutely perfect.”
