Ming Xi recently shared a series of photos from the traditional Chinese tea ceremony on her social media account. She wore a total of 22 gold dragon-and-phoenix bracelets worth nearly 3 million yuan. The lavish wedding gift was presented to her by her mother-in-law, Angela Leong.

Ming Xi arranged 18 Hong Kong-style dragon-and-phoenix bracelets into a chain around the front of her neck, while wearing another two bracelets on each wrist, bringing the total to 22. The extravagant arrangement created the striking appearance of a unique “golden scarf.”

According to wedding traditions in Hong Kong and Macau, each solid gold dragon-and-phoenix bracelet typically weighs around 80 to 100 grams. Sin Chew reported that the raw gold value alone of the bracelets worn by Ming Xi exceeded 2.6 million yuan. After factoring in the cost of traditional craftsmanship, their combined value approached 3 million yuan.

Ming Xi also attracted attention after sharing photos of the traditional outfit she wore for the bridal ceremony. The custom-made designs were created by Ochirly and named “Harmony Fills the Hall.”

The bride’s traditional gua jacket was meticulously hand-embroidered with gold metallic thread. The entire garment was covered in silver-white motifs symbolizing wealth and prosperity, representing a happy marriage and a flourishing family. Pale pink silk threads were also incorporated into the design, giving the outfit a softer and more elegant appearance than traditional red dragon-and-phoenix wedding attire.
The decorative knotted fastenings made with metallic thread along the front of the jacket were created using an ancient technique that is reportedly becoming increasingly rare. Auspicious motifs such as lotus flowers, dragons, and phoenixes covered the garment, with every small detail crafted with remarkable intricacy.
The entire wedding outfit was made using an imperial-style coiled metallic-thread embroidery technique dating back to the flourishing Tang Dynasty. It was sewn completely by hand and reportedly required more than 3,600 hours to complete.

On September 28, supermodel Ming Xi and Mario Ho held a lavish wedding celebration at the Grand Lisboa Palace Macau. More than 500 guests attended the event, including members of elite social circles and numerous Chinese entertainment stars such as Huang Xiaoming and Joe Chen.
Mario Ho is the son of late Macau casino tycoon Stanley Ho and businesswoman Angela Leong, who was ranked as Hong Kong’s 24th-richest person with a fortune of $4.2 billion, according to Forbes figures cited in the report. Known for his talent in mathematics, Mario twice won first prize in Hong Kong mathematics competitions and also participated in several international contests. At 18, he reportedly received admission offers from both Oxford University in the UK and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), ultimately choosing MIT. He now runs his own business.
Ming Xi is six years older than Mario Ho. Born in Shanghai, she studied fashion design in her hometown and graduated in 2017. She became one of China’s most internationally recognized models, working with luxury brands including Alexander Wang, Balmain, Burberry, Dior, Lanvin and Louis Vuitton, while also becoming a Victoria’s Secret model.
