On Oct 15th, the 16th Beautiful Artist Awards, hosted by the Shin Young Kyun Arts and Culture Foundation, chaired by Shin Eon-sik, was held.
Numerous stars from various fields attended the ceremony, drawing considerable attention. In particular, the beautiful actress Lee Young-ae graced the event alongside her 75-year-old husband, Jung Ho-young. The couple attracted attention with their affectionate interactions and warm demeanor toward each other.
At this year’s Beautiful Artist Awards, five recipients were selected across different categories. Actor Kim Mu-yeol received the Film and Drama Artist Award, actor Park Geun-hyung was honored with the Performing Arts Artist Award, cinematographer Lee Seok-ki received the Achievement Award, the late actor Ahn Sung-ki was selected for the Good People Artist Award, and director Kim Do-young received the New Artist Award.
The Beautiful Artist Awards were established in 2011, the year the Shin Young Kyun Arts and Culture Foundation was founded. Held annually toward the end of the year, the awards recognize outstanding artists in film, performing arts, lifetime achievement, philanthropy, independent cinema, and emerging talent. A total of 100 million won in prize money is awarded, with each of the five recipients receiving 20 million won. The performing arts category has also expanded its evaluation scope to include a wide range of stage productions, such as theater and musicals.
The Beautiful Artist Awards began with its inaugural ceremony, at which actress Kim Hye-ja received 100 million won in prize money in recognition of her achievements in acting. Over the past 15 years, the ceremony has honored artists who have demonstrated exceptional performances and accomplishments across film, television dramas, and the performing arts, establishing itself as an event that celebrates the year’s achievements in the cultural and artistic community. By its 16th edition this year, more than 60 artists have received the honor.
