The October 1 episode of JTBC’s Divorce Camp revealed an in-depth investigation into the first couple of the 25th season, dubbed the “provocative couple.”
During the episode, the wife presented torn clothing and photos of bruises as evidence of alleged physical abuse by her husband, while the husband appeared to deny the accusations. Seo Jang Hoon responded, “I wish you would stop making that excuse,” urging him to reconsider their relationship for the sake of their child. The couple’s conflict deepened further when the husband was shown questioning whether their son was biologically his.
A preview shown at the end of the episode then introduced the second couple of the 25th season. The husband described his wife as being “like a bomb that could explode at any moment,” while an on-screen caption read, “Violent tendencies revealed when anger takes over.”
The wife was also shown raising her voice while arguing with her husband. When she snapped, “What are you talking about? Why should you even live?” an on-screen caption described her words as “merciless verbal abuse.” Watching the couple argue, Park Ha Sun reacted in disbelief, saying, “What are you doing? You’re not children.”
According to the wife, one of the remarks that fueled their conflict was, “Is pregnancy some kind of privilege?” She claimed that her husband had also made comments such as, “Men carry military packs weighing several kilograms…” and “This is the problem with women.”
The allegations of physical aggression were not one-sided. The husband confronted his wife, saying, “Didn’t you hit me on the back of the head?” She fired back, “You did the same thing,” to which he responded that his actions had been “self-defense.”
After watching their exchange, Seo Jang Hoon expressed frustration, asking, “Can’t you stand it unless everything is perfectly fair?” and “If this is how you’re going to behave, why did you get married?” Lee Dong Gun also criticized the husband’s behavior, saying, “He disregards her and tramples on her dignity. It’s practically at the level of verbal abuse.”
The preview alone showed the second couple of the 25th season exchanging harsh words and allegations of violence against each other. The circumstances that ultimately led them to enter Divorce Camp will be revealed in the next episode.
