Lee Do Hyun is reportedly preparing for a possible new challenge as he has been offered the lead role in the upcoming action drama “Destroyer of Destruction” (literal title). The news has gained attention as the actor may step into a darker and more intense character after completing his military service.
On June 22, Korean media outlet MyDaily reported that Lee Do Hyun is being considered for the male lead role in the series.
According to Soompi, following the report, his agency YH Entertainment confirmed the casting discussion, saying, “It is true that he has received an offer for the project.”
“Destroyer of Destruction” is described as a large-scale action drama about an elite hitman who spent ten years involved in organized crime. The story follows his unexpected move into a police witness protection unit, where he begins protecting victims using methods that are far from ordinary.
Lee Do Hyun Eyes Action Comeback
If Lee Do Hyun accepts the role, he will play the character of an ace killer who once made a name for himself in the criminal world. After a major turning point in his life, the character chooses to defend others instead of continuing his former path, creating a story filled with action and personal change.
The drama is already drawing interest because of its production team. Shin Kyung Soo, the director behind popular series including “The First Responders,” “Six Flying Dragons,” and “The Nokdu Flower,” is set to lead the project, PinkVilla reported.
His experience with dramatic and character-focused stories has increased expectations for the upcoming series.
For Lee Do Hyun, the possible role marks another step in his growing career after returning from military service. The actor recently completed filming for his first project after discharge, the Netflix series “Grand Galaxy Hotel.” He is also reportedly in discussions to appear in the Korean adaptation of the Chinese romance film “Viva La Vida.”
Since finishing his duties, Lee Do Hyun has continued receiving attention for his upcoming projects.
