On September 14, Kwon Mina explained her position regarding the fraud allegations, saying, “The person involved was so absurd and impossible to communicate with that I initially wanted to stay quiet because I didn’t want to be misunderstood again. But I’m writing this now.”
According to Kwon Mina, Person A first contacted her because they wanted to take acting lessons. After receiving one lesson, Person A requested additional sessions. However, Kwon Mina claimed that their arrangements repeatedly fell through while they were trying to coordinate schedules. Kwon Mina said that Person A then requested a full refund, and that she returned the entire amount, including the rental fee for the practice room that had already been paid.
She explained, “Even after receiving a full refund, that person suddenly apologized and said they could do better. They also said they wanted to take lessons again and asked for the price list.” Kwon Mina continued, “They said they wanted to take regular lessons several times a week for a certain number of hours, so I calculated the cost and sent it to them. Then they said it wouldn’t work, so I ended things. Afterward, they said it would work again, and then they said it wouldn’t work once more.”
She further claimed, “They didn’t consider their own no-shows and asked to resume lessons, saying that there had also been times when they couldn’t take lessons because of me. When I refused, they said they would ask their friends whether this kind of situation was normal or that they needed to bring people from their father’s side of the family to meet me. That’s when I blocked them.”
Kwon Mina emphasized that she had tried to coordinate available lesson times according to Person A’s schedule. “I only calculated the cost based on the timetable they wanted, and I tried to accommodate them as much as possible by adjusting to the times when they were available for lessons,” she said. She added, “But if the agreed-upon times keep getting pushed back, I can’t live my life around Person A alone, can I?”
Kwon Mina also strongly rejected the fraud and threat allegations directed at her. “What exactly did I do wrong for this to already become a fraud charge and a threat charge?” she asked. “If you want to file a complaint, go ahead. In return, I will file a complaint for making a false accusation. I’m also considering legal action for defamation.”
Kwon Mina added, “There were some threatening remarks at the end, so I had a feeling something might happen, but I’m already hearing about everything. Just in case, I’ve kept the entire conversation history from our messenger, so everyone should not worry.”
Earlier, on September 4, Kwon Mina claimed that she, her mother, and an acquaintance of her mother had suffered financial losses amounting to hundreds of millions of won at the hands of her older sister. At the time, she alleged that the total damages amounted to approximately 700 million to 800 million won. She also mentioned a promissory note and the process of purchasing a vehicle, and stated that she would pursue legal action on charges including fraud, forgery of private documents, embezzlement, and threats if her older sister failed to apologize to their mother or acknowledge the alleged wrongdoing.
Born in 1993, Kwon Mina debuted as a member of AOA in 2012 and left the group in 2019. She has since continued communicating with the public through her personal social media account.
