Ahead of the release of her new digital single “DEJAVU,” Kwon Eun Bi recently sat down with SPOTV News at a café in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, where she discussed her new song and various aspects of her upcoming activities.
Kwon Eun Bi debuted as a member of IZ*ONE after being selected for the group through Mnet’s audition program Produce 48 in 2018. During their time together, IZ*ONE earned widespread love in Korea and overseas with major hits including “La Vie en Rose,” “Violeta,” “Fiesta,” and “Panorama.” After their official group activities came to an end in 2021, the members went their separate ways.
Fans’ hopes for an IZ*ONE reunion have grown even stronger after I.O.I, another girl group formed through the Produce 101 franchise, recently reunited to celebrate its 10th anniversary and released a new song. IZ*ONE will reach its own 10th anniversary in 2028.
Amid the growing anticipation, reports recently revealed that several IZ*ONE members had gathered for a reunion led by Kwon Eun Bi. The meeting was reportedly attended by Kwon Eun Bi, Jo Yu Ri, Choi Ye Na, Kim Chae Won, Kim Min Ju, Honda Hitomi, and Yabuki Nako, who reminisced about their time together in IZ*ONE and caught up on their current lives.
Kwon Eun Bi began by saying, “Recently, after seeing our seniors I.O.I happily performing together for their 10th anniversary, we also got together and talked about how we would like to release an album and promote together when our 10th anniversary comes.”
She continued, “We got together after seeing our seniors’ activities, and while watching them perform, we talked about how we should come together too if the circumstances allow. I really wanted to do it. I thought, ‘If we all get together like that, I feel like we could do really well, too.’ I thought it would be wonderful if we could come together even just once, at a time when we are all happy, looking our best, and have the opportunity to do so. I think that also gave me a sense of responsibility that I should take the initiative if we are going to make it happen.” Her comments reflected her strong desire to see IZ*ONE reunite for their 10th anniversary.
Meanwhile, Kwon Eun Bi’s new digital single “DEJAVU” will be released on major music streaming platforms at 6 p.m. KST today.
