The Korean film The Intern has officially unveiled its first poster and teaser, marking the highly anticipated debut of one of the country’s most talked-about movie projects.
The film has attracted enormous attention because it is a remake of the globally acclaimed Hollywood hit of the same name, which originally starred Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway. Since the cast was announced, the project has been one of the most anticipated productions among Korean audiences.
In the Korean adaptation, veteran actor Choi Min Sik and actress Han So Hee take on the lead roles. Choi Min Sik is widely regarded as one of South Korea’s greatest film actors. Throughout his decades-long career, he has delivered memorable performances across both film and television. His impressive accolades include two Baeksang Arts Awards, three Blue Dragon Film Awards, and four Grand Bell Awards for Best Actor alone.
Meanwhile, Han So Hee has established herself as one of the biggest beauty icons in the Korean entertainment industry. Frequently praised for her striking resemblance in elegance and charm to Anne Hathaway, the actress enjoys immense popularity and has appeared multiple times on lists of the world’s 100 most beautiful faces. Beyond her stunning visuals, Han So Hee has also earned recognition for her performances in The World of the Married, My Name, and Soundtrack #1. Her role in My Name even earned her a Best Actress nomination at the Baeksang Arts Awards.
The first teaser introduces audiences to the unique atmosphere of the film while offering a glimpse into the journey of its two main characters. According to the teaser, Gi Ho arrives for his first day at work feeling both nervous and excited. During his interview with Vice President Young Hwan, he is asked about his greatest strengths and weaknesses. He humorously replies, “My greatest strength is that I have a lot of experience, and my greatest weakness is that I’m quite old,” successfully securing a position as an intern at the fashion startup Wootutu.
Dressed in a neat business suit and carrying a leather briefcase, Gi Ho carefully organizes his workspace with personal items including a cake, traditional oranda snacks, a water bottle, a desk clock, a pencil case, and an ink bottle, instantly setting himself apart from his much younger coworkers. The teaser also reveals him earnestly searching online for tips on working with Generation MZ and trying to understand trendy slang, hinting at plenty of humorous yet heartwarming moments as he embarks on a brand-new chapter in his career.
Han So Hee also leaves a strong impression as the passionate young CEO Seon Woo. Much like in the original film, her character initially shows clear dissatisfaction with Gi Ho, raising curiosity about how the two will gradually overcome their differences and build their relationship throughout the story.
