On May 7, the cast and crew of Wild Thing attended the film’s production presentation at Lotte Cinema Konkuk University Entrance. Director Son Jae-gon appeared alongside stars Kang Dong-won, Uhm Tae-goo, Park Ji-hyun, and Oh Jung-se.
The film follows the story of a once-popular co-ed dance group called “Triangle,” which suddenly disbanded after becoming embroiled in an unexpected incident. Twenty years later, the former members reunite for one final attempt at a comeback.

In the movie, Kang Dong-won plays Hyun-woo, the charismatic leader and dance machine of the group. The actor’s transformation into an idol character has already generated attention, especially since audiences still remember his viral “Boombastic” dance scene from A Violent Prosecutor nearly a decade ago.
Speaking about his preparation for the role, Kang Dong-won admitted the experience completely changed how he viewed idols.

“While preparing for this project, I realized something,” he said. “Whenever I watched idols before, I always thought, ‘They must have such a hard life.’ But after filming this movie, I came to truly respect them.”
The actor also explained why he chose to return to comedy. “Comedy is actually my favorite genre,” he shared. “The script was incredibly funny, but what I especially loved was that it had a fully completed ending instead of an open ending.”

He added that the chemistry between the four central characters and the emotional journey toward the finale made the project especially appealing.
Produced by the team behind the blockbuster Extreme Job, which drew over 16 million moviegoers in South Korea, Wild Thing is expected to combine over-the-top humor with nostalgic music industry themes.
The film is scheduled to premiere in South Korea on June 3.
