JYP Entertainment saw a sharp drop in second-quarter earnings, with reduced activities by Stray Kids playing a major role in the decline.
The company reported KRW 183.1 billion (about $122 million) in revenue for the second quarter of 2026, down 15.1% from the same period last year. Operating profit fell 41.4% to KRW 31.0 billion (about $20.7 million), while net profit dropped 40.3% to KRW 21.7 billion (about $14.5 million), Koreaboo reported.
JYP pointed to a high comparison base from the previous year, when Stray Kids were active with their large-scale dominATE world tour. The group’s concerts and merchandise sales brought in strong income during the second quarter of 2025.
This year, however, Stray Kids had fewer major activities during the same period. Their next world tour began in July, after the second quarter had ended. That change had a clear effect on JYP’s live business. Concert revenue fell 35.7% year over year to KRW 39.9 billion (about $26.6 million).
Merchandise revenue also dropped 34.5% to KRW 43.9 billion (about $29.3 million). Revenue from artist appearances fell 28% to KRW 7.0 billion (about $4.7 million). JYP said the figure was affected by fewer fan concerts, although Stray Kids still appeared at fan meetings and major festivals during the period.
Stray Kids’ Reduced Activities Hit JYP Earnings
The company also faced higher selling, general and administrative costs, including commission fees.
JYP said these expenses, along with the weaker revenue base, added pressure to its operating profit. Still, the quarter was not weak across every part of the business. Physical album revenue rose 36.7% to KRW 37.0 billion (about $24.7 million).
According to MBW, Stray Kids’ catalog album sales also increased from 120,000 units in the second quarter of 2025 to 420,000 units this year.
Streaming revenue climbed 71.6% to KRW 19.7 billion (about $13.1 million), while advertising revenue grew 20.5% to KRW 13.6 billion (about $9.1 million).
JYP’s results now come as Stray Kids enter a busier period. The group’s new activities and world tour are expected to provide more concert, merchandise, and music revenue during the second half of 2026 and into 2027.
The company generated KRW 369.1 billion (about $246 million) in revenue during the first half of 2026, with operating profit of KRW 64.4 billion (about $42.9 million) and net profit of KRW 53.6 billion (about $35.7 million).
