Actor Jung Il Woo has officially joined Galaxy Corporation, opening a new chapter in his career as the company plans to expand his global activities beyond traditional acting.
Galaxy Corporation announced on July 29 that it signed an exclusive contract with Jung Il Woo. The agency said it expects to create new opportunities in the global market by combining the actor’s strong international popularity with its technology-driven entertainment business.
“Jung Il Woo is a global Hallyu actor who has been loved across Asia for many years. We look forward to creating new synergies in the global market together,” Galaxy Corporation said.
Under the new partnership, Jung Il Woo is expected to explore various projects, including AI-based content, global fan platforms, and brand collaborations, TheChosun reported. The move marks a wider expansion for the actor as he enters different areas of the entertainment industry.
Jung Il Woo began his career as an actor in 2006, gaining his first major exposure through the MBC sitcom “High Kick!.”
Since then, he has built a successful career with popular dramas such as “Moon Embracing the Sun,” “Diary of a Night Watchman,” and “Cinderella and Four Knights.” His performances have helped him gain a large fan base across Asia and establish himself as a recognized Hallyu star.
Jung Il Woo Celebrates 20 Years as a Hallyu Star
This year marks the 20th anniversary of his debut. In May, Jung Il Woo celebrated the milestone by holding his fan meeting “Still Here” in Hangzhou, China.
During the event, he spent time with fans through interviews, games, question-and-answer sessions, and live performances. The actor has also continued to strengthen his presence overseas.
According to AllKPop, in May, he participated in the International Economic, Trade, and Cultural Exchange Forum held in Shanghai, where he was named an ambassador for Asia-Pacific economic, trade, and cultural cooperation.
Recently, Jung Il Woo took on a role in the Amazon Prime Video original series “The Outlaw,” portraying the enigmatic character Takigawa.
The series gained attention by maintaining the No. 1 spot in viewership rankings for three consecutive weeks after its release.
Galaxy Corporation, which will oversee Jung Il Woo’s management, is an AI-driven entertainment technology company with artists including G-Dragon, Song Kang Ho, Taemin, Kim Jong Kook, Ryu Jun Yeol, and Lee Jung Hoo.
