IU is giving fans another chance to see her concert films on the big screen this September. CGV has announced that ‘IU Concert: The Golden Hour’ will return to theaters on September 9, followed by ‘IU Concert: The Winning’ on September 16.
The return of the films comes as IU has postponed her September Goyang Stadium concert and delayed the release of her sixth full-length album because of ongoing health issues related to patulous eustachian tube.
The special screenings will give fans a chance to enjoy two major moments from IU’s concert career again.
‘The Golden Hour’ is based on her 2022 concert and first came to theaters in 2023. ‘The Winning’ features highlights from her 2024 world tour and was first released in 2025, KPopHit reported.
IU also revealed that ‘The Winning’ will be available in special theater formats, including ScreenX, 4DX, and Ultra 4DX. CGV and IU are also preparing events tied to the screenings.
IU Sets September Return for Two Concert Films
In a video shared by CGV on June 18, IU talked about her upcoming 18th debut anniversary.
According to AllKPop, she asked fans if they remembered what they were doing three years earlier, on September 18, when many were watching ‘The Golden Hour’ at CGV.
With the films returning, IU encouraged fans who missed them before to take the opportunity to watch them this time. For longtime fans, the screenings also offer a way to revisit the energy of her large-scale shows from a theater seat.
Last month, IU told her fan community that her Goyang Stadium concert, which was planned for September, would be postponed because of her continuing health problems. She also said her sixth album would be delayed because its main promotions were connected to the concert and tour.
For fans waiting to see IU perform again, the September theater releases offer something familiar to look forward to. ‘
The Golden Hour’ arrives first on September 9, while ‘The Winning’ follows one week later on September 16.
