Hwang Jung Min Controversy Deepens Amid Ongoing Legal Battle and Stalking Case

Actor Hwang Jung Min’s agency has denied allegations of an extramarital relationship and said the woman who made the claims is a stalking suspect facing ongoing legal proceedings. The controversy has continued to grow as both sides present different accounts of the dispute.

SEM Company, Hwang Jung Min’s agency, released a statement on July 29 saying that the woman identified as “A” had repeatedly harassed the actor. The agency said court measures had already been issued against her, including three provisional protective orders and a summary order that resulted in a 3 million KRW fine related to the stalking allegations, DailyJang reported.

“The individual behind the malicious posts about Hwang is a suspect in a stalking case who has persistently harassed the actor,” the agency stated. The agency also said it would take further legal action against what it described as false and harmful claims.

Hwang Jung Min’s side has strongly denied “A”‘s allegations that the two had an inappropriate relationship.

“A” previously claimed through social media that she had known Hwang Jung Min since 2023 and had remained in contact with him for about two years. She alleged that the actor made inappropriate comments, suggested meetings, and discussed business opportunities. She also claimed that she experienced personal and professional harm.

Following the agency’s statement, “A” responded by saying the stalking case was being used to damage her credibility. She acknowledged receiving the 3 million KRW fine but said she had requested a formal trial, meaning the case has not reached a final court decision.

“I saw the official statement released by Hwang Jung Min’s side,” “A” said. “Several cases are currently being contested through a formal trial.”

Hwang Jung Min Dispute Expands

The dispute has expanded beyond online posts and court proceedings. According to AllKPop, “A” reportedly contacted companies connected to Hwang Jung Min’s upcoming film “Hope,” including U.S. distributor Neon, asking them to verify her claims.

The companies later said they were informed that Hwang had already taken legal action and that protective orders had been issued.

The situation also drew attention after reports that “A” contacted Hwang Jung Min’s son, who was a minor at the time.

“A” said she sent the message only because she could not reach the actor or his agency and wanted her concerns delivered. However, the move received criticism from some members of the public, who argued that children should not be involved in disputes between adults.

Investment and production companies behind “Hope” also announced plans for legal action, claiming that edited materials were shared with business partners and that the controversy affected their operations.

Hwang Jung Min, who married Kim Mi Hye in 2004 and has two children, is continuing his acting activities despite the controversy. The actor recently attended promotional events for Hope alongside director Na Hong Jin and co-stars.
