Girls’ Generation’s Sunny Returns to Variety After 2 Years With Lee Seung Chul and Tak Jae Hoon
Girls’ Generation’s Sunny returns to variety television after two years, joining Lee Seung Chul and Tak Jae Hoon as the “Chul-Tak-Sunny” music delivery team.
On September 21 at 10 p.m. KST, KBS2’s 2026 Chuseok special Your Life Is a Never Ending Story – Lee Seung Chul will air its variety segment Song Delivery, introducing the music delivery team “Chul-Tak-Sunny,” consisting of Lee Seung Chul, Tak Jae Hoon, and Sunny.
The first person to send a story to “Chul-Tak-Sunny” is a bride-to-be preparing for an important new chapter in her life. Having been raised by her grandmother, she asks the trio to help fill the absence of her father at her wedding with happiness rather than sadness. After hearing her story, the three head to the wedding as guests and begin their first “song delivery” mission for the bride.
Their mission that day is to deliver a surprise congratulatory performance that has been kept secret even from the groom. Lee Seung Chul, Tak Jae Hoon, and Sunny move around the wedding venue while trying to avoid being recognized by the other guests. Sunny, in particular, is tasked with making it all the way to the bride’s waiting room without revealing her identity, raising anticipation for the unpredictable situations that may unfold from the very beginning.
On the bus ride to the wedding venue, the trio also holds a “cover song World Cup” featuring younger singers who have remade some of Lee Seung Chul’s most famous songs.
Lee Seung Chul cannot hide his pleased smile as impressive covers continue to appear, including IU’s version of “Never Ending Story,” Lee Mujin’s “Girls’ Generation,” Park Bo Gum’s “I Will Give You All,” and Taeyeon’s “My Love.” However, he is ultimately forced to choose just one. When faced with a showdown between IU and Lee Mujin, Lee Seung Chul even waves his hands and jokes, “IU scares me,” drawing laughter.
Meanwhile, Sunny is attracting particular attention as this marks her return to a variety show after approximately two years. Sunny ended her exclusive contract with SM Entertainment in August 2023 and later signed with A2O Entertainment, founded by her uncle and former SM executive producer Lee Soo Man.
Since then, reports have revealed that Sunny has been helping with the production of girl group A2O MAY, but she has largely stayed away from individual broadcasting activities. Song Delivery marks her first television program since appearing alongside Hyoyeon on JTBC’s camping variety show No Way Home in 2024.
Song Delivery, marking Sunny’s long-awaited return to variety television, will air on September 21 at 10 p.m. KST, while the music show Never Ending Story – Lee Seung Chul will air on September 24 at 7:30 p.m. KST on KBS2.
