On October 23, Gary uploaded a video titled “Let’s Talk Until Hao Finishes His Academy Class (Daechi Dad Kang Gary)” to his official YouTube channel, Kang Gary.
After dropping his son, Hao, off at an academy in Daechi-dong, Seoul, Gary headed to a restaurant with his YouTube producer. “Parents are amazing. Once you get married and have a child, your life is no longer really about yourself until your child becomes an adult. That’s just how it is,” he said.
“I should live the life of a YouTuber,” Gary continued. “I spent several years just thinking about YouTube. I know how to do some editing, and I occasionally travel, so I thought it would be nice to document those experiences and connect with people by sharing them.”

He went on to explain, “After getting married and having a child, I became involved in raising him together with my wife. From early childhood until around the sixth grade, children spend a lot of time with their parents, and those years are when they’re at their cutest. You get to watch your child grow from a baby into a little kid.”
Gary added, “Parenting isn’t just something you do for your child; in some ways, you do it for yourself, too. I felt that if I made plenty of memories with him, I wouldn’t have regrets later.”
Gary married his wife, who is 10 years younger than him, in 2017. The couple welcomed their son, Hao, in November of the same year.
