Once hailed as a rising star, Shan Yichun has seen her reputation collapse dramatically, effectively cutting off her path to becoming an A-list artist. From being a public favorite, she has now become one of the most criticized figures in Chinese entertainment.
Born in 2001, Shan Yichun rose to fame after winning Sing! China and was widely regarded as one of the most promising young vocalists of her generation—often dubbed a “future diva” in the C-pop industry.

However, since late March, she has faced intense backlash after being accused of blatantly infringing on copyrights and performing a hit song without permission. The controversy involves Li Ronghao, who publicly called her out for using his song Li Bai without authorization. Under mounting pressure, Shan Yichun eventually issued a public apology.
According to Li Ronghao, Shan Yichun’s team had previously requested permission via email to perform Li Bai at her concert in Shenzhen, but he explicitly declined. Despite this, she reportedly went ahead and performed the song anyway.

What further fueled criticism was her prior conduct. Li Ronghao revealed that he had once overlooked her heavily altered version of the song on a TV show, even though it significantly deviated from the original. The situation escalated when Shan Yichun allegedly attempted to register copyright for her own remix version of Li Bai—a move that was ultimately rejected by the Music Copyright Society of China.
Her actions were widely condemned as disrespectful and unprofessional. Netizens quickly turned against her, calling for a boycott. In response, Shan Yichun apologized, claiming the issue stemmed from an oversight by event organizers. She promised to stop performing the song, remove related content, and cover all licensing fees and compensation.
However, her attempt to shift blame only worsened public sentiment. Li Ronghao rejected both her apology and any financial compensation, emphasizing that his goal was to protect artistic integrity rather than seek money. He also stated he was considering legal action.

Although the dispute has since quieted down, its impact on Shan Yichun’s career has been severe. In recent months, she has largely disappeared from television and entertainment programs, while public support has dwindled significantly. According to Chinese media reports, tickets for her concerts have been refunded in large numbers, and prices have dropped by more than half—yet still struggle to sell.
With venues appearing increasingly empty, there is growing concern that her concerts may be canceled due to low attendance and financial losses. Despite her difficult situation, public sympathy remains scarce. Many believe she is now facing the consequences of her actions, citing her attitude and blatant disregard for intellectual property as the root of her downfall.
