Ryu Hwa-young, who is set to marry this September, surprised fans by introducing her fiancé to the public for the first time and proposing to him on stage, creating one of the most talked-about moments of the festival.

On July 3, Ryu appeared as a DJ at the Daegu Chimac Festival, held in Duryu-dong, Dalseo District, Daegu. Embracing her status as a bride-to-be, she performed wearing a white dress and a bridal veil. Running across the stage with a microphone in hand, she energized the audience with her lively personality throughout the performance.
As her DJ set came to an end, Ryu turned to the crowd and said, “I prepared a surprise. Shall we invite my groom up here?” She then called her fiancé who had accompanied her to the regional event as her one-day manager onto the stage.

Escorted by staff and acquaintances, her fiancé stepped onto the stage, immediately attracting attention with his tall build and handsome appearance. As he shyly stood before the audience, Ryu got down on one knee and presented him with a bouquet of flowers. She then warmly said, “Honey, thank you for marrying me,” creating an emotional moment that drew loud cheers from the crowd. Her fiancé bashfully accepted the flowers, and the couple bowed deeply together to thank everyone for their heartfelt congratulations.
Earlier, Ryu had personally announced her upcoming marriage through her social media account, writing, “With excitement strengthened by certainty, we’ve decided to walk the same path together.” At the time, she described her fiancé as “a man like a father.” He is reportedly a businessman three years older than the actress. The couple is scheduled to tie the knot on September 12.

After finishing the event, Ryu shared several photos on her personal account with captions including “DJ RYU, the bride-to-be” and “Finished another DJ event today.” She also gave fans a glimpse into her quiet evening at home, sharing that she and her fiancé enjoyed spicy yukgaejang instant noodles with whiskey after returning home, offering a warm look at their everyday life together before marriage.
Ryu Hwa-young debuted as a member of T-ara in 2010 before leaving the group and pursuing an acting career. Since then, she has built a solid filmography with roles in dramas including Hello, My Twenties!, My Father Is Strange, Mad Dog, The Beauty Inside, and The Player 2: Master of Swindlers, earning recognition for her steady acting performances.
