Day6‘s Young K is preparing for his long-awaited solo comeback with a brand-new full-length album, YOUNGEST, set for release on July 27.
On July 6, JYP Entertainment officially announced the comeback through DAY6’s social media channels, exciting fans who have been waiting for Young K’s next solo project.
The upcoming release will be his second studio album as a solo artist and his first full-length comeback in nearly three years. Along with the announcement, the agency shared a prologue teaser image that quickly drew attention online.
The teaser showed shattered glass reflecting different parts of Young K’s face, creating a mysterious atmosphere. A key engraved with the initials “YK” was also included in the image, raising curiosity about the album’s concept and story, AllKPop reported.
YOUNGEST follows Young K’s first solo studio album, “Letters with Notes,” which was released in September 2023. That album highlighted his emotional vocals and songwriting abilities, and many fans expect the new project to further show his growth as a singer-songwriter.
Young K Prepares Solo Return
Since debuting with DAY6 in 2015, Young K has built a strong reputation for his musical talent. He has taken part in writing and composing many of the band’s most popular songs, including “You Were Beautiful,” “Congratulations,” and “Time of Our Life.”
His meaningful lyrics and emotional sound have helped DAY6 maintain a loyal fanbase both in South Korea and internationally.
The new album is expected to continue that musical style while also revealing a different side of Young K as a solo artist. Fans are already showing excitement online as they wait for more teasers and details ahead of the release date.
According to The Korea Herald, the comeback also arrives shortly after DAY6 completed its 10th anniversary concert tour, “The DECADE.”
The tour included 27 shows across 16 cities and ended with three sold-out finale concerts at Seoul’s KSPO Dome.
Outside of music, Young K has also stayed active through television appearances. He is currently appearing on ENA’s variety program “The Scout.
