Viewers were in disbelief.
Recently, reports revealed that actor Cha Eunwoo was being considered for the lead role for the new season of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty.
“Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” Season 2 Casting Hit With Major Pushback
However, on August 11, Fantagio officials stated, “This drama is one of the projects currently under review.”
Viewers expressed shock at the production team’s casting criteria, as he was offered a role while still in the military, without fully resolving his tax-evasion controversy.
Previously, in season one, actor Park Sung Hoon was initially cast as the male lead; however, after controversy broke out over his social media activity, he withdrew from the show and was replaced by rookie actor Lee Chae Min.
The producer at the time stated, “(For season one) It happened before filming for the drama began. Casting doesn’t always go the way you want, and I just consider it something that passed as part of the process.”
However, the public is having a hard time understanding why the production team is pushing ahead with the decision to choose Cha Eunwoo, despite the public remaining uncomfortable due to the unresolved tax evasion controversy.

- “Cha Eunwoo is more vicious…”
- “He can’t even act.”
- “Why did the original cast withdraw? They had great chemistry.”
- “If it’s ok to use Cha Eunwoo, why did they withdraw Park Sung Hoon?”
- “I guess they don’t think tax evasion is a crime…”
