On the first episode of SBS‘s dating reality show Love Against Time, which aired on August 3rd, the participants’ first meetings and illness diaries were revealed.
During the broadcast, Kim Seon Ho shared that he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer while serving in the military, saying, “At the time, my family’s financial situation was not good. I felt like a burden and was very sorry. I couldn’t bring myself to tell them because I felt like I was driving a nail into my parents’ hearts.”
Choi Yena, who had battled lymphoma as a child, empathized with Kim Seon Ho, saying, “When I was sick as a child, I kept feeling sorry seeing my parents and family break down and get upset. I felt like I was the one to blame.”
She added tearfully, “I remember my parents selling kimbap to pay the hospital bills because the medical expenses were so high.”
