BTS members V and Jungkook have opened up about health problems affecting them during the group’s ongoing “ARIRANG” world tour, with V revealing that he has been dealing with hearing difficulties for about two and a half years.
The two stars discussed their health during a Weverse livestream after BTS performed in Baltimore. While speaking with fans, V said he had never shared the hearing problem with ARMY before.
“I haven’t told ARMY before, but my hearing has been deteriorating for about two and a half years,” V said.
V explained that the difference between his ears is significant. According to TheChosun, he said that if his left ear is at 100, his right ear is only around 30. He added that he has been taking medication and regularly visiting doctors for treatment.
V also said the problem became worse during his military service. He recalled being told by people around him that the issue could be related to his mental state, which led him to believe that explanation for a time. He now continues to seek medical care.
Jungkook showed concern for his bandmate during the conversation and encouraged him to take care of the problem. V responded that he has been visiting the hospital regularly.
Jungkook Reveals Shin Injury
Jungkook then shared a health update of his own. The BTS member said he has been dealing with heavy inflammation in his shin, which has limited how much he can move during the group’s North American shows.
“I really wanted to run around onstage today, but there were moments when it hurt too much for me to do so,” Jungkook said, asking fans to understand his limits, KoreaHerald reported.
He explained that he does not currently have a stress fracture, but the inflammation is severe and there may be minor damage to the bone. Jungkook said he plans to manage the injury carefully so he can continue the tour.
“I’ll run when I absolutely need to, but at other times I’ll have to force myself to hold back if I’m going to make it through this tour,” he said.
BTS is currently continuing the North American part of its “ARIRANG” world tour. The group performed in Baltimore on August 10 and 11 after opening the second North American leg in East Rutherford on August 1 and 2.
The group is next scheduled to perform at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on August 15 and 16. BTS will then head to Toronto for concerts at Rogers Stadium on August 22 and 23.
