It just may not be what the shippers were expecting.
During the final episode of tvN’s Goblin 10th Anniversary Trip, reuniting the cast of Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In Na headed out together early in the morning to pick up coffee.

Their comfortable bickering began almost immediately. While browsing at a café, Yoo In Na picked up a bag and asked Lee Dong Wook what he thought. Rather than offering an enthusiastic opinion, he simply told her that she looked like “someone holding a bag.” Unimpressed by his brutally practical response, Yoo In Na continued trying on different options and asking him to compare them. Despite acting indifferent, Lee Dong Wook eventually bought her the bag she wanted.

The two later left the accommodation again and walked along the beach, where the conversation turned toward just how familiar they had become with each other. Yoo In Na told Lee Dong Wook that being around him felt natural and asked whether he felt the same way. He agreed, pointing out that they had worked together on both Guardian: The Lonely and Great God and Touch Your Heart.

Yoo In Na then finally put a label on their unusually close dynamic.
It feels like we were married for years and then got divorced.
— Yoo In Na
The comparison immediately drew laughter, but it also captured why the pair’s chemistry has remained so popular long after their dramas ended.
Lee Dong Wook: Oh, so it’s not like bad familiarity? Are we beyond all of that?
Yoo In Na: Yeah, it’s way past that. Like, someone who will always have my back, even if we don’t see each other for a while. You know?
Not exactly the romantic confirmation fans were waiting for, but perhaps an even more intimate label!
