ATEEZ‘s newest comeback is getting strong reactions online as fans continue discussing the group’s title track “Bad” from their latest album, GOLDEN HOUR : Part.5.
Released on June 26, the song mixes reggaeton, Latin hip-hop, and trap-inspired sounds. The music video quickly gained attention, reaching 6.5 million views shortly after release.
While many fans praised the group’s bold concept and performance style, others raised concerns about member Yeosang’s limited lines and screen time.
Several fans pointed out that Yeosang appeared on screen for only around eight seconds in the music video. Some also claimed his actual singing time may have been even shorter. Complaints about line distribution are not new for the group, but this comeback brought the discussion back into the spotlight.
According to Koreaboo, one fan wrote, “YEOSANG really deserves better because having one line again in a title track is just ridiculous.” Another fan said they were frustrated seeing the issue continue “in his 8th year of his career.”
The song’s lyrics also sparked debate among some Latin American fans. “Bad” includes Spanish phrases and lyrics centered around a confident woman and a party-like atmosphere.
ATEEZ’s ‘Bad’ Divides Fans Online
While some listeners enjoyed the sound, others felt disappointed by what they described as a shallow use of Latin culture.
One fan commented that the lyrics felt like “a bunch of random words in Spanish” placed into the song for a “Latina aesthetic.” Others questioned why ATEEZ continues using Latin-inspired concepts while rarely touring in Latin America outside of Mexico.
At the same time, many listeners defended the comeback and praised the group’s creativity. Some called “Bad” one of the most unique K-pop releases of the year, while others said the song became more enjoyable after repeated listens.
Adding another layer of excitement to the comeback was actress Chase Infiniti’s appearance in the “Bad” music video, Complex reported. The 26-year-old actress has openly supported ATEEZ for years, and longtime fans quickly recognized how meaningful the collaboration was for her.
Infiniti previously shared her love for the group during promotions for “One Battle After Another” in 2025. In an MTV interview, she recommended songs like “Guerrilla,” “Bouncy,” and “Hala Hala” to new listeners while speaking about ATEEZ’s music.
ATEEZ, made up of Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho, remains one of K-pop’s biggest global groups.
