Apink member and solo singer Jung Eun Ji is making her long-awaited return with a new mini album, marking her first solo album release in nearly four years. Her agency, Billions, officially announced the comeback on July 22 by revealing the first teaser image for her fifth mini album, ‘Summer, I,’ through its official social media channels.
According to SBS Star, the new album will be released on August 11 at 6 PM KST, giving fans a chance to hear new music from Jung Eun Ji after a long wait.
The teaser image quickly gained attention for its summer-inspired mood, featuring Polaroid photos and handwritten notes arranged in a vintage file-style design. The image also included a photo of hands reaching over blue waves, creating a warm and nostalgic feeling that matches the album’s title.
‘Summer, I’ is Jung Eun Ji’s first solo album in three years and nine months. Her most recent album was the remake album ‘log,’ which was released in November 2022.
Jung Eun Ji Begins Solo Comeback
Meanwhile, her last mini album, ‘Simple,’ was released in July 2020, making this comeback especially meaningful for fans who have been waiting for her return as a solo artist.
Although she has not released a solo album recently, Jung Eun Ji has continued her musical activities.
In 2024, she released the digital single “It’s My Birthday Today?” and took part in writing and composing the song, AllKPop reported.
Earlier this year, she also presented her own version of “Parrot,” an original soundtrack from the popular drama ‘Princess Hours.’
Known for her clear vocals and emotional performances, Jung Eun Ji has built a strong identity as a solo singer since releasing her first mini album ‘Dream’ in 2016. She has continued to show her unique style through albums including ‘The Space,’ ‘Hyehwa,’ and ‘Simple.’
Ahead of the album release, Jung Eun Ji will begin sharing more content with fans. According to the teaser schedule, new concept photos will be revealed after the album tracklist is released on July 24.
Following her comeback activities, Jung Eun Ji will continue meeting fans through performances. She is scheduled to appear at ‘HER VOICE’ at Kaohsiung Arena in Taiwan on September 5. After that, she will hold her solo concert from September 12 to 13.
