Singer Ailee expressed her sorrow over parting with her pet dog.
On October 3rd, Ailee announced the sad news of her pet’s passing on her account with the message: “My true first love, our Som.”
According to Ailee, Som had been her companion dog since 2012. However, in 2015, she learned that Som was seriously ill and was told she might only live to be 6 to 8 years old at most. Despite this, Som continued to receive regular medical treatment and spent a long time with Ailee.
In 2024, Som’s condition worsened, and she was diagnosed with approximately three months left to live. Nonetheless, Som stayed by her side for an additional two years beyond expectations.
Ailee shared her heartfelt feelings, saying, “My brave baby. Eating well, playing happily, spending two more years with Mom and Dad, bringing us smiles and happiness.”
She added, “Though I had prepared myself emotionally for a long time, I never thought you would leave so suddenly just as being together became natural and familiar. I wished we had just a little more time,” revealing her sadness over the sudden goodbye.
She continued, “You endured for 14 years, Som. Now, can you wait for me brightly smiling, no longer in pain, by Mom, Grandma, and Grandpa’s side so you won’t be lonely? Let’s surely meet again someday,” offering her final farewell.
