Merry Berry Love tells the cross-border romance between Lee Yu-bin, a Korean spatial designer played by Ji Chang-wook who has experienced business failure, and Shirahama Karin, a Japanese female farmer played by Mio Imada. Their love story unfolds on a beautiful island. Once again, Ji Chang-wook has demonstrated his strength as a romantic comedy star. He previously helped drive the success of MBC’s Empress Ki, which recorded a peak viewership rating of 29.2%.
According to FlixPatrol, the series climbed to No. 2 on Disney+’s worldwide TV show chart within its first week of release. It also entered the Top 10 in 73 countries and regions worldwide. Now in its third week, the series continues to maintain a strong position in the rankings.
In the third episode, Lee Yu-bin and Karin grew closer as they prepared for the Green Nova Corporation Festa, a local agricultural products competition. Their feelings for each other deepened after they began living under the same roof. Meanwhile, Park Gu-nam, a working holiday participant played by Nam Yoon-su, began developing a flirtatious relationship with his longtime crush, Mizuno Mari, played by Rinka Kumada, as the two engaged in a playful game of push and pull.
Still cuts from the fourth episode, released on October 28, capture the two couples becoming even sweeter with each other. Yu-bin and Karin wear matching outfits for the festival and strike the same exhausted pose, creating a humorous moment. Another scene in which Yu-bin presents Karin with flowers adds to the romantic atmosphere. Meanwhile, Gu-nam throws himself into promoting the event on his own. He and Mari share bright smiles while wearing sweet potato and strawberry mascot costumes, respectively. Gu-nam’s unmistakable smile reveals his unwavering devotion to the woman he likes.

A new rival is also set to appear. Rage, played by Kangnam, is Karin’s former university classmate and longtime rival. He makes a strong impression with an elaborate booth of his own. His arrival is expected to create a subtle tension among Yu-bin, Karin, and Rage.
Merry Berry Love releases new episodes every Wednesday night on Disney+ and Japan’s terrestrial broadcaster Nippon TV.
