On October 12, director Jang Jin and actor Jung Woong In appeared as guests on the YouTube show Zzanbro Shin Dong Yup, where they reminisced about actors they had worked with and shared behind-the-scenes stories from their past film projects.
During the conversation, host Shin Dong Yup asked Jang Jin how he had managed to cast Won Bin in the 2001 film Guns & Talks. The director responded casually, “Back then, Bin would come whenever I called him.”

Although Won Bin has become one of South Korea’s most elusive actors, rarely appearing in new projects, Jang Jin remembered him as a carefree young man who comfortably walked around in casual tracksuits and slippers.
The director also recalled how Won Bin preferred simple activities when spending time with his colleagues. According to Jang Jin, the actor was not particularly interested in drinking alcohol and instead enjoyed visiting PC gaming cafés with his fellow cast members. Despite attracting attention for his handsome appearance, Won Bin reportedly spent his free time playing computer games and hanging out with friends rather than pursuing a glamorous lifestyle.

Jang Jin went on to praise Won Bin’s personality, describing him as both entertaining and exceptionally kind. “He was fun, and he was such a genuinely nice person,” the director recalled affectionately. Shin Dong Yup immediately agreed, adding, “When it comes to kindness, that’s all you need to say about him.”

Directed by Jang Jin, Guns & Talks was released in 2001 and combined action with dark comedy. The film starred Won Bin alongside Shin Hyun Joon, Jung Jae Young, and Shin Ha Kyun. It became a commercial success, attracting approximately 2.26 million moviegoers across South Korea.
Fourteen years after the film’s release, Won Bin married actress Lee Na Young on May 30, 2015. The couple welcomed their son in December of the same year.
