On the morning of October 6, Lee Yoo Jin personally announced the marriage on Instagram, sharing a series of wedding photos of the couple along with a heartfelt message. According to his post, Lee Yoo Jin and Cha Kyung Eun will hold their wedding in mid-November.
He wrote, “In my 20s, I became an actor, and this year, in my 30s, I achieved my longtime dream of becoming a director. My final dream was to meet someone who would make me want to devote myself to spending the rest of my life with them.”
Speaking about his future wife, Lee Yoo Jin said, “Kyung Eun is the person I want to talk to first at the end of a busy day. Even when I couldn’t believe in myself, just a few words from her turned the impossible into the possible more than once. She is someone I’m grateful to for teaching me that sometimes, a single warm word is enough to create a miracle.”
Lee Yoo Jin continued, “I don’t think I’ll ever have another wonderful experience in my life that makes me think so actively about ‘forever.’ That’s why I decided to become a family with this person.”
He added, “We will cherish each other and build a happy life together. I will also continue working diligently as both an actor and a director. I would be grateful if you could warmly celebrate this new beginning with someone who is both a once-in-a-lifetime friend and a dependable partner.”
Cha Kyung Eun also announced the news on her Instagram the same day, writing, “Some of you may be surprised by the sudden news, but building a happy family has long been one of my biggest goals. I have now met someone precious and am beginning a new chapter in my life.”
She continued, “I will continue doing my best to show a good side of myself, both as an actress and as a person building a family. We would be grateful if you could warmly celebrate and bless our new beginning.”
Lee Yoo Jin made his acting debut in the 2013 drama Goddess of Fire and has since appeared in productions including Dr. Frost, Second 20’s, Hello, My Twenties! 2, Familiar Wife, Be Melodramatic, Do You Like Brahms?, Three Bold Siblings, and No Gain, No Love. He also attracted attention by appearing alongside his father, Lee Hyo Jung, on MBC’s variety show I Live Alone.
Cha Kyung Eun, a graduate of Seoul Institute of the Arts, has appeared in SNL Korea Season 7 as well as dramas including Someday of Me, Detective Code: The Bridal Shower Murder Case, and PICKGO.
The couple reportedly first met through Lee Yoo Jin’s directorial debut, the short-form drama Cast Me if You Can!, and later began dating. Born in 1992 and 1998 respectively, Lee Yoo Jin and Cha Kyung Eun have a six-year age difference.
Meanwhile, Cha Kyung Eun is the younger sister of actress Kim Seung Yoon, who recently announced her marriage to actor Jang Dong Yoon. Jang Dong Yoon and Kim Seung Yoon are set to marry this month, meaning the two sisters will walk down the aisle just one month apart.
