A popular actress’ brother shared the turning point when he began to face life sincerely, confessing to being miserable and depressed in the past.
On September 27th, Jeon Wook Min, the younger brother of Jeon So Min, posted on social media, “In South Korea, about 1 in 13 people experience depression at least once. Around 15,000 people each year, or more than 40 people daily, take their own lives,” along with a short video.

In the video, Jeon Wook Min said, “I had depression. My business failed, and I thought my life was a failure. I didn’t want to face reality. So, I labeled myself with ‘depression.’”
He continued, “One day, my beloved dongsaeng told me, ‘Hyung, you’re not cool.’ I got angry and stormed out and came home. Looking back, I think I was angry at myself. I was avoiding it, but deep down I knew. I saw reality. Inside the life I sent away with rationalizations, I was even more broken.”
Finally, he added, “I quit drinking and stopped taking medicine. Then I started delivery work. When I posted the video, people commented not to pretend to be struggling or hardworking. I don’t care how they see it. I have nothing to lose anyway. I’ll keep going until I have something to lose.”

Jeon Wook Min also revealed, “Since I started posting videos, I’ve received many contacts from reporters, broadcasters, film companies, and brands. At first, I was happy, thinking maybe I finally had a chance. But after talking, most were similar. What they wanted was not ‘me’ but ‘the younger brother of my sister.’In the end, most contacts were people wanting to hear my sister’s story through me.”
