After a three-year absence, the hit series Ted Lasso officially returned with Season 4 and quickly made an impressive breakthrough on Apple TV. The new season premiered its first episode on August 5, 2026, and just two days later, it climbed to No. 1 on the platform’s global TV show chart.

While the first three seasons revolved around Ted Lasso and his journey to revive an English men’s football team, Season 4 takes the story in an entirely new direction as Ted returns to Richmond to coach a women’s football team competing in the second division. It is also the first time Ted has had to essentially start from scratch with an entirely new squad. The women of the Lady Greyhounds not only need to improve their skills on the pitch but must also learn to trust one another, overcome failure and find the courage to step outside their comfort zones. The producers have described it as Ted’s biggest challenge yet, as he and his players learn to “take a leap” rather than always seeking certainty before making a move.
Alongside Jason Sudeikis, the new season also brings back two familiar and particularly prominent female stars: Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton and Juno Temple as Keeley Jones. Both actresses were confirmed to return as part of the main cast for Season 4. Waddingham continues to embody the powerful, glamorous and sharp-witted Rebecca, while Temple returns as Keeley, a character known for her feminine, distinctive and sometimes daring fashion sense.
