Shortly after her debut, allegations of school violence during her middle school years emerged, and controversy intensified after it became known that she had previously received a Level 5 disciplinary measure from a school violence committee. Kim Garam subsequently left LE SSERAFIM about two months after her debut, while her exclusive contract with Source Music was also terminated. After stepping away from the entertainment industry, she enrolled in Konkuk University’s Department of Media Acting and began preparing for an acting career.
