On September 16, streaming platform Wavve shared a short clip on its official account with the caption, “Now he’s the dangerously sweet guy from A Love Other Than Yours, BUT during his rookie days, no one took ‘Growl’ more seriously than he did.” The clip came from a 2014 episode of MBC’s variety show Radio Star. Seo Kang Joon, then still a rookie actor, appeared in a striking leopard-print outfit and sat down at the piano to perform EXO’s hit song “Growl.”
Despite his somewhat awkward piano skills, Seo Kang Joon maintained an intensely serious expression throughout the performance and even enthusiastically added his own variations to the song. The highlight came when he suddenly stared into the camera with a fierce, almost beast-like gaze and solemnly added a perfectly timed “growl,” sending the other guests into laughter.
