On Sep 3rd, Kwon Mina took to social media to speak about the plastic surgery rumors that had emerged following noticeable changes in her appearance.
Referring to some of the reactions she has received, Kwon Mina said, “When I lose weight, my jaw looks smaller, and now that I’ve gained weight, I look heavyweight. Whenever something changes, people say I look different or that I’ve had work done.”
She then completely denied undergoing plastic surgery in her typically playful tone, saying, “If I had plastic surgery, don’t people normally have a recovery period? These days? I’ll tell you honestly and get it off my chest!!! I haven’t had plastic surgery.”

At the same time, Kwon Mina openly acknowledged that she has undergone non-surgical cosmetic procedures. “I’ve had lifting treatments several times and skin boosters. That’s it. Okay?” she said, adding, “So I guess this is just how I look. I’m not a natural beauty, I’m a natural person through and through.”
With her comments, Kwon Mina also directly addressed people who have been speculating about whether she had undergone surgery based solely on changes in recent photos and videos. Since facial features and overall appearance can vary depending on weight, physical condition, makeup, and other factors, she brushed off the various assumptions about her appearance in a lighthearted manner.
Earlier in January, Kwon Mina revealed that she had suffered a burn accident while undergoing a sleep-induced Shurink lifting treatment at a dermatology clinic. She said her skin peeled off layer by layer and developed oozing wounds and blisters, while the extreme stress eventually caused her to experience panic attacks, prompting widespread concern from fans.

Kwon Mina is reportedly still involved in a legal dispute with the medical staff involved. She initially said she had been told that she would need a skin graft and two years of treatment, but later explained, “At the moment, we are looking at more than a year of treatment, and the possibility of scarring or other lasting impairment cannot be ruled out.”
Meanwhile, Kwon Mina debuted as a member of AOA in 2012 and was active with the group before later leaving and expanding her career into acting. She currently keeps in touch with fans and shares updates about her life through social media.
