On the morning of September 2, Korean media outlet Mydaily reported that Ji Ye Eun and Vata had unexpectedly announced their marriage. According to the report, the couple will tie the knot on December 12, which also happens to be Vata’s birthday.
By the time they get married in December, the couple will have been dating for approximately one year. Although their relationship has not been particularly long, Ji Ye Eun and Vata reportedly decided to take the next step after building a strong relationship based on love and trust. They are currently sharing the happy news with their friends and family and receiving numerous congratulations.
Ji Ye Eun’s agency also released a statement on the morning of September 2, saying, “The two have promised to walk through the next chapter of their lives together based on their deep trust in each other. We sincerely ask everyone to send them your warm congratulations and support as they prepare to begin this new chapter together.”
Ji Ye Eun and Vata officially confirmed their relationship in April this year. At first, the pair received enthusiastic praise as one of K-entertainment’s newest “beautiful couple” pairings. However, their relationship later became embroiled in allegations that Vata had been unfaithful to his longtime girlfriend.

The claims originated from an anonymous internet user, referred to as “A,” who claimed to have closely followed Ji Ye Eun and Vata’s relationship and knew about the dancer’s dating history. According to A, Vata allegedly began flirting with and pursuing Ji Ye Eun while still dating his former girlfriend. The posts further claimed that Vata eventually ended his six-year relationship in order to pursue the actress.
A’s posts reportedly dated back to July 2025 and continued through January this year, describing what was allegedly the couple’s transition from friends to romantic partners. In a post from July 2025, A claimed that Vata had choreographed “Milkshake,” a song performed by Ji Ye Eun and Ji Suk Jin, and questioned why the two had suddenly become so close. The anonymous poster alleged that they frequently met through dance lessons and church activities and appeared to be developing feelings for each other, despite Vata allegedly still being in a long-term relationship at the time.
In September 2025, A claimed that Vata appeared to have developed feelings for Ji Ye Eun. The following month, another post questioned why he seemed interested in her despite reportedly having a girlfriend.
A later claimed that Vata had ended his six-year relationship and moved on to Ji Ye Eun, portraying the alleged breakup as the turning point in their romance.
From late last year through January, A continued posting claims about the pair’s relationship, suggesting that they began openly flirting, were preparing to confirm their romance and eventually started dating.
The allegations sparked heated debate across online communities. Some users believed the pair may have been involved romantically before Vata ended his previous relationship, citing the anonymous poster’s detailed descriptions of their alleged timeline.
Others took a more cautious stance, saying they would wait for Ji Ye Eun and Vata to clarify the timeline themselves. Some also emphasized that there was no way to confirm whether all of A’s claims were true.
Amid the controversy, Vata’s representative eventually addressed the allegations, stating that the claims were “completely groundless.” The representative explained that the agency had initially chosen not to respond because they did not consider the matter worth addressing, but decided to speak out after unverified information began spreading online. The representative further claimed that Vata had never been in a six-year relationship and that his most recent relationship and breakup had actually taken place three years earlier.
Born in 1994, Ji Ye Eun entered the Korean entertainment industry at the age of 23 through the web drama How To. She has since gained considerable attention as a fixed cast member of the popular variety show Running Man. Vata, also born in 1994, is best known as the leader of South Korean dance crew We Dem Boyz. He rose to wider fame after finishing as the runner-up on Street Man Fighter four years ago.
