On August 31, HYBE and Geffen Records announced through KATSEYE’s official social media account that Sophia is focusing on recovering her health and condition. “The company is doing everything it can to provide Sophia with all the support and resources she needs. Accordingly, Sophia will not participate in the European and UK leg of the ‘THE WILDWORLD TOUR’ scheduled from September 1 to 17,” the agency said.
The agency added, “We sincerely ask for your warm understanding. The health of our artists is always our top priority. We will provide further updates if there is any additional information to share.”
Sophia had previously missed several scheduled activities in the United States last month due to health reasons.
On August 8, Sophia shared on social media, “It was never an easy decision to make, but I’m learning that my health has to come first.” She continued, “I’ve realized that if I don’t take care of my body and mind now, I won’t be able to continue doing what I love most for a long time.”
Following Manon, who stepped away from activities in February due to health concerns, Sophia is now also taking a break. As a result, KATSEYE will continue its activities as a four-member group for the time being.
Meanwhile, KATSEYE released its third EP, ‘WILD,’ on August 14.
