In K-Pop, idols making more than one debut have almost become the norm, especially with the popularity of survival shows. Including their debuts as solo idols, some idols have hit over 3-4 debuts during their careers.
One K-Pop idol is prepping to make another debut following more than a decade of idol activities.
In 2013, the boy group Pure Boy debuted, but not before several line-up changes, including a trainee named Kain, who did not make the final line-up but participated in pre-debut activities. Kain would go on to debut that year as a member of BLAST, which later disbanded in 2015.
Kain was then involved in three more groups as a pre-debut member, making it close enough to be mentioned by name, but moving on before line-ups were solidified. In 2016, Kain joined the existing boy group Underdog but remained active only until 2017.
After this, he was a member of another pre-debut boy group, HI5, which never officially debuted. Kain then debuted in MUSTB in 2019, his most well-known debut, as Sangwoo, and remained a member of the group until their temporary disbandment in 2023.
The idol seemed to have taken a break from his activities and did not attempt another debut until recently.
In 2019, Sangwoo was a pre-debut member of ONE A DAY, and seems to now be debuting in another group called One A Day under Dao Entertainment.
The group so far has advertised TikTok lives, so it is unclear when or if they will release music in the typical boy group manner.
At 32 years old, Sangwoo has certainly shown a determination to follow his dreams across multiple different generations of K-Pop!
