On August 7, the Netflix series “Our Sticky Love,” starring Jung Hae In and Ha Young, was released.
The romantic comedy follows Go Eun Sae (Ha Young), a prosecutor who loses her memory, and Jang Tae Ha (Jung Hae In), a boxing coach who insists that he is her boyfriend, as they begin an unexpectedly sweet and complicated life together.

In particular, the pairing of Jung Hae In, who has earned the nickname “Romance King,” and Ha Young, who has been dubbed “Netflix’s daughter,” had attracted considerable attention even before the series premiered.
As interest in the drama and the chemistry between the two actors continues to grow, unexpected allegations concerning Ha Young’s family background have surfaced.

Ha Young has previously revealed through various television appearances and online content that she comes from a “four-generation family of doctors.” She also drew attention by sharing that her great-grandfather was reportedly the first doctor to open a Western medical practice in Hanyang after studying Western medicine in Japan and that he had treated Emperor Gojong.
However, allegations concerning the past activities of Ha Young’s great-grandfather, Ahn Sang Ho, have recently emerged online.

Ahn Sang Ho graduated from the Tokyo Jikei Medical School in Japan in 1902.
In 1918, reports published in the Maeil Sinbo stated that he had married a Japanese woman and adopted a Japanese-style lifestyle, leading to controversy over alleged pro-Japanese activities. The following year, he was reportedly embroiled in allegations surrounding the theory that Emperor Gojong had been poisoned.

Coincidentally, Jung Hae In, who plays Ha Young’s romantic partner in the series, is a direct descendant of Jeong Hak-yu, the second son of the renowned scholar and reformist Jeong Yak-yong.
Jung Hae In has also consistently expressed his patriotism, including by posting photos of the Korean national flag on Independence Movement Day in previous years.
Of course, the allegations surrounding Ha Young’s great-grandfather have not yet been conclusively verified. However, the contrasting circumstances surrounding the two actors, who portray lovers in the drama, have unexpectedly drawn additional public attention to the pair.
