Scheduled to premiere on August 29, Four Hands, Two Sonatas follows a group of gifted students at an elite arts high school, portraying their passionate friendships, loves, fierce rivalries, and personal growth through music.
The project has already generated significant anticipation thanks to the casting of Song Kang, who rose to global fame through Netflix hits such as Love Alarm and Sweet Home, alongside Lee Jun Young, whose recent drama Reborn Rookie achieved a peak viewership rating of 14.8%, further solidifying his reputation as one of Korea’s most promising leading actors.
Song Kang plays Kang Bio, a perfectionist who consistently ranks at the top both academically and as a pianist. Gifted with extraordinary talent, he is also relentlessly disciplined, practicing until his fingers are blistered in pursuit of perfection.
Kang Bio’s carefully structured world is shaken when transfer student Choi Jung Yo (Lee Jun Young) arrives. Unlike Kang Bio, Choi Jung Yo performs with instinctive freedom rather than strict technique. His unconventional style challenges everything Kang Bio has built, setting the stage for an intense emotional and artistic journey.
A newly released poster captures the youthful chemistry between the two characters, showing them in their Korea Arts High School uniforms, leaning back-to-back while sharing warm smiles. The image evokes nostalgic memories of school friendships and hints at the special bond they will develop.
The contrast between the two is especially striking. Kang Bio smiles directly at the camera with quiet confidence, while Choi Jung Yo closes his eyes as if fully immersed in the moment. Their opposite personalities promise a compelling dynamic as the story unfolds.

The recently unveiled second teaser videos further deepen viewers’ curiosity by revealing the emotional struggles both characters carry.
The first teaser opens with Kang Bio winning a prestigious international junior piano competition. Despite his success, he remains emotionally isolated, trapped between the cold expectations of his family. His world-renowned conductor grandfather dismisses him, while his mother constantly pressures him to become the very best, leaving him suffocated by the weight of perfection.
Amid this loneliness, Choi Jung Yo reappears like a ray of hope. Having first crossed paths with Kang Bio during a childhood competition, he reminds him of the joy of playing music rather than chasing perfection. Through Jung Yo’s influence, Kang Bio gradually begins to rediscover his passion and confesses, “Now I want to find a way to enjoy music and truly be happy.”
The second teaser shifts the focus to Choi Jung Yo’s hidden pain. Scenes of him desperately running from someone, combined with the heartbreaking line, “How can you make a living by playing the piano?” reveal the poverty that forced him to abandon his dream. Inspired by Kang Bio, Jung Yo slowly finds the courage to return to music and pursue the future he once believed was impossible.
