Singer Hong Kyung Min has sparked attention by revealing a behind-the-scenes story of his close friend Kim Jong Kook on his wedding day.
On July 8th, a video titled “This person is really funny” featuring Hong Kyung Min as a guest was uploaded to a YouTube channel run by Shin Jung Hwan.
In the video, Hong Kyung Min showcased his characteristic witty storytelling, sharing anecdotes about the “Dragon Club,” a close-knit celebrity friend group.
Host Shin Jung Hwan asked, “Is there a member in the Dragon Club who particularly triggers anger?” Hong Kyung Min smiled and replied, “At first, I found it annoying, but over time, that annoyance turned into respect,” drawing attention as he pointed to Kim Jong Kook.
Hong Kyung Min explained, “There are only three situations when Kim Jong Kook calls—on his way to work out, while working out, or on his way back from working out,” causing laughter on set. He added, “Even if he has important personal appointments or gatherings, Kim Jong Kook always completes his entire workout routine before attending,” highlighting his rigorous self-discipline.
Notably, Hong Kyung Min surprised viewers by sharing a story from Kim Jong Kook’s wedding day. He recalled, “Kim Jong Kook held his wedding around 5 or 6 p.m., a relatively late time.” However, Hong Kyung Min revealed, “Even after the ceremony ended that night, he still went to the gym.”
He said, “Watching that, I thought, ‘For him, exercise is like a sacred ritual, akin to the traditional wedding ceremony.’ From that moment on, my feelings changed from mere obsession to a certain respect for him as a person,” eliciting big laughs from the production team and audiences.
Kim Jong Kook married a non-celebrity woman last September at a hotel in Gangnam, Seoul. The wedding was a quiet, private affair attended only by fellow celebrities, family from both sides, and close acquaintances.
