On the show You Quiz on the Block, an idol-turned-actor opened up about the severe financial hardships he faced after debuting with a boy group, as well as the painful past where he had to shed tears in secret.
On July 8th, Lee Jun Young, originally a member of U-KISS who now actively works as an actor, appeared on tvN’s You Quiz on the Block for the “Last Dance” special.
Lee Jun Young recalled the difficult times financially even after debuting with U-KISS. He cautiously began, “There were no activities in Korea. Since I had no individual work, I had no extra income, so I worked part-time by my house.”
He also revealed a painful episode when he unexpectedly ran into a manager from his agency while working part-time, which he never wanted to happen, and broke down crying. Lee Jun Young said, “I worked a night shift at a convenience store before practice. At that time, the manager happened to come by to buy cigarettes. I was so embarrassed that I said nothing and cried a lot. I never wanted to get caught, but I was so ashamed,” which moved viewers emotionally.
Upon learning about Lee Jun Young’s situation, working secretly due to debt, the manager also cried with him. Lee Jun Young added, “He dropped me off and cried. Then I just gritted my teeth and endured it,” revealing that after silently enduring the difficult period, he was able to reach his current position, drawing attention.
