Her candid confession will air on the popular tvN variety show You Quiz on the Block, where she reflects on her health crisis and the changes it brought to her life.

Moon revealed that she was diagnosed with Acute Compartment Syndrome, a serious condition that can lead to tissue damage if not treated in time.
Recalling the moment before her emergency surgery, she said: “I was told I might have missed the golden time, and that necrosis may have already begun. Hearing that my finger nerves might not recover made me cry.”
The situation was critical, with the risk of permanent damage looming over her. Fortunately, the surgery was successful. Moon shared a surprisingly lighthearted memory of what she thought after hearing hopeful news from her doctor: “When they said I might be able to play rock-paper-scissors again, instead of being emotional, I thought I should get a good meal.”

Her response drew laughter, but also reflected a newfound positivity after facing a life-threatening moment.
The experience profoundly changed how she views life. Known for maintaining strict discipline especially with dieting Moon said the first thing she wanted to do after recovery was simple: eat popcorn at the movie theater.
She recalled choosing the largest size and realizing, “This is what watching a movie feels like.” It was a small but meaningful moment that symbolized her renewed appreciation for everyday happiness.

Now in her 40s, Moon Geun-young expressed a new life philosophy. Rather than focusing solely on discipline or expectations, she wants to live with more joy and freedom. “I want to live my life more excitingly,” she said, embracing what she described as an “ehera-diya” mindset a spirit of letting go and enjoying life.
Once known as Korea’s “Nation’s Little Sister,” Moon Geun-young returns not only healthier but also stronger, offering a story that resonates with anyone who has faced hardship and found a new way to live beyond it.
