Kim Hyun Joo appeared on actress Yoo In Na’s YouTube channel Yoo In Radio on September 23, where she shared an update on her life.
Yoo In Na confessed that she had been a longtime fan, telling Kim Hyun Joo, “I really liked you when I was a student.” Kim Hyun Joo responded warmly, “I came here because of Yoo In Na. Of course, I’m appearing partly to promote my work, but Yoo In Radio was a show I genuinely wanted to be on. I was curious about how you manage to stay so bright and refreshing.”
When Yoo In Na mentioned that Kim Hyun Joo appeared to enjoy making things based on her YouTube vlogs, the actress replied, “I like doing things with my hands, such as pottery and knitting.” She added that she also spends her spare time learning musical instruments including the guitar, violin, and drums.
During the episode, Kim Hyun Joo presented Yoo In Na with a handmade knitted hair tie and a peach-shaped tumbler bag. She also gave Go Young Bae a four-leaf clover knitted keychain. Go Young Bae remarked, “I also become interested in all sorts of things, but once I start watching Shorts, I never seem to have enough time.”
Kim Hyun Joo said, “I mostly use my phone to send messages, and I don’t really make calls. There aren’t that many people I keep in touch with either. When I’m at home, I tend to stay away from my phone, so it can be difficult to reach me.”
When Yoo In Na commented, “You don’t seem like someone who gets lonely very often,” Kim Hyun Joo admitted, “I actually get lonely a lot. That’s why I soothe my loneliness by knitting. It works. It clears my mind. I can do it all day long. These days, knitting is pretty much the only thing I’m interested in.”
Kim Hyun Joo is currently preparing for the October 21 release of director Yeon Sang Ho’s new film Paradise Lost. The psychological thriller follows Ryu So Young (Kim Hyun Joo), a mother who lost her son nine years earlier in the mysterious disappearance of a camping school bus. Her life is turned upside down when her son Ryu Sun Woo (Bae Hyun Sung), whom she believed to be dead, miraculously returns alive.
