KBS2’s new Saturday-Sunday drama “A Love Other Than Yours” is already attracting significant attention ahead of its premiere on September 12, with the star-studded combination of Seo Kang Joon, Ahn Eun Jin, Lee Joo Ahn, and Jo A Ram generating buzz even before the drama hits the air.
The Return of “Grand Prize Winner” Seo Kang Joon: Transforming Into Nam Goong Ho, a Man in a 10-Year Relationship

On the afternoon of September 7, a press conference for “A Love Other Than Yours” was held at The Saint in Sindorim-dong, Guro-gu, Seoul, with director Hwang Seung Gi and cast members Seo Kang Joon, Ahn Eun Jin, Lee Joo Ahn, and Jo A Ram in attendance. Director Hwang explained, “The story begins with a couple who have been dating for 10 years as they struggle to decide whether to break up or get married. It is a drama that explores the fundamental aspects of love that anyone can relate to, while also allowing viewers to enjoy the actors’ performances.” Seo Kang Joon, who plays Nam Goong Ho, the ace employee at the bakery company Hunmin Confectionery and Mi Do’s boyfriend of 10 years, shared his thoughts on the role, saying, “The script was really fun. Rather than expressing every emotion through words, there was a lot of room to convey them through looks, actions, and nuances, which made the role exciting to play.”

Seo Kang Joon first rose to widespread recognition through tvN’s “Cheese in the Trap” in January 2016. After completing his mandatory military service, he was discharged in March 2024 and returned to television with MBC’s “Undercover High School,” which premiered in February 2025. The drama achieved a peak viewership rating of 8.3%, ranking No. 1 among MBC’s Friday-Saturday dramas last year, and earned Seo Kang Joon the Grand Prize at the 2025 MBC Drama Awards. Choosing this project as his follow-up after receiving the prestigious award, he admitted, “There’s no way I could feel completely free of pressure. I thought I had to deliver results worthy of the award I received, so I did my absolute best.”
From a 10-Year Couple’s Chemistry to Unexpected New Variables: The Cast Shares Their Confidence

Ahn Eun Jin takes on the role of Mi Do, a film director and Nam Goong Ho’s girlfriend of 10 years. Introducing her character, she said, “She made a glamorous debut as a promising young director, but she has yet to make her commercial film debut, so she feels that she hasn’t been able to fulfill her potential. She repeatedly finds herself facing difficult situations and obstacles.” Speaking about portraying a 10-year relationship tinged with the familiarity and stagnation that can come with a long-term romance, she explained, “To capture the atmosphere of a couple who have become completely accustomed to each other, we spent plenty of time getting to know each other before filming.”

Seo Kang Joon also expressed his trust in his co-star, saying, “The emotions and feelings came through so naturally whenever we looked into each other’s eyes that all the preparation we had done together on set almost felt unnecessary. Ahn Eun Jin conveyed Mi Do’s emotions and inner feelings so deeply that I felt I could simply receive the emotions delivered by such a wonderful actress and the acting would naturally follow.” Lee Joo Ahn plays Han Tae Seung, a lawyer at the Jaegang law firm who finds himself in conflict with Nam Goong Ho over Mi Do. Describing his character, he said, “He is the kind of person who will use any means necessary to get what he wants.” Meanwhile, Jo A Ram plays Park Soo Ah, Nam Goong Ho’s junior colleague who shakes up his relationship. She described her character as “someone who carries painful memories from the past but actively forges her own path in life,” adding, “The script was so much fun that once I picked it up, I kept reading without taking a break.”
“Even If We’re Shaken, There Are Things We’ll Protect”: The Four Characters Reveal Their Choices

On September 8, “A Love Other Than Yours” released the cast members’ answers to questions about how their characters would respond when faced with unexpected problems, giving viewers an early glimpse of what to expect before the premiere. Seo Kang Joon predicted that Nam Goong Ho, who has been in a relationship for 10 years, would confront problems head-on. “Even if it means sitting down face-to-face with all three people involved, he would openly confess everything and confront the situation,” he said. “I don’t know what the outcome would be, but if I love someone, I would want to face everything head-on.” Ahn Eun Jin focused on the weight of the years the couple have shared. “If a couple has spent 10 years together, I think there must be a reason they haven’t broken up until now. I think they would try to protect that love,” she said. She added, “Unexpected moments of uncertainty can happen, but I would try not to take any further active action after that.”

Regarding Han Tae Seung, a character who cannot rest until he gets the answer he wants, Lee Joo Ahn said, “Tae Seung would probably just say it. He would act on his own without considering others,” analyzing that this behavior comes “not necessarily from malice, but from his personality and survival strategy of simply hating it when things get in his way.” Jo A Ram emphasized Park Soo Ah’s honesty, saying, “If I were in that situation, I think I would have an honest conversation with my partner and make the choice that works best for both of us.” She added, “The way she gives her all to the people she cares about and honestly expresses her feelings is similar to me.”
With the cast’s candid stories generating even more anticipation ahead of the premiere, KBS2’s “A Love Other Than Yours” will premiere on September 12 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
