On January 23, Yuju appeared as a guest on Chaoroom , the YouTube channel hosted by Cao Lu , in a video titled “An epic backstory!.. The GFRIEND main vocal who almost debuted with ‘Faster Than Cheetah Weekend’.” During the episode, the two idols shared candid stories from their trainee and dormitory days.
Cao Lu first recalled how idols often found ways to slip past their dorm manager to grab convenience store food, describing small acts of rebellion carried out under the guise of taking out the trash. Yuju then revealed that she and the GFRIEND members had their own memorable moment of rule-breaking before debut.

According to Yuju, the group was exhausted while preparing for their debut song “Glass Bead.” Wanting to breathe fresh air and feel a sense of freedom, all six members secretly left the practice room through a back exit while the song played on repeat inside. They headed to the Han River , where they ended up playing dodgeball until 3 a.m.

Yuju added that the members kept the dodgeball with them when they returned to the dorm and knelt in front of their female team leader to apologize. While bowing their heads in silence, one member was still holding the ball, eventually prompting a confession that they had gone to play dodgeball at the Han River.
The lighthearted story drew laughter, highlighting the group’s youthful and innocent bond during their trainee days. Meanwhile, Yuju has continued her career as a solo artist following GFRIEND’s disbandment . The group reunited last year to release their 10th anniversary special album, Season of Memories .
