Yang Hyun-suk, the executive producer of YG Entertainment, is set to make a rare appearance at the 2025 MAMA Awards in Hong Kong, marking his first return to the event in 11 years. According to OSEN, Yang will attend the awards ceremony held on November 28–29 at Kai Tak Stadium, where YG’s next-generation performance groups BABYMONSTER and TREASURE are scheduled to perform.
Yang’s last appearance at MAMA was in 2014, when WINNER received the Best New Artist award, expressing gratitude to him in their acceptance speech a moment remembered for its emotional resonance. His confirmed attendance this year is drawing significant attention, as his participation in public events has been notably limited in recent years.
The driving force behind Yang’s return is his desire to personally support BABYMONSTER and TREASURE, both of whom are expected to deliver standout performances. A senior industry insider revealed that Yang made the decision to attend specifically to cheer on the two groups.
BABYMONSTER is rapidly expanding its global fanbase and reputation as “stage masters,” particularly after the release of their second mini-album WE GO UP. Meanwhile, TREASURE continues to strengthen its image as a premier performance boy group during its ongoing 2025–26 TREASURE TOUR PULSE ON.

The 2025 MAMA Awards has also announced a collaboration with the Netflix project KPop Demon Hunters, featuring BABYMONSTER members Pharita, Ahyeon, and Rora. These three will appear in the WONDER STAGE, where they will bring the film’s narrative to life through a large-scale performance an event already generating considerable buzz thanks to their vocal and stage prowess.
Since Yang Hyun-suk officially resumed his role as YG’s executive producer in 2023, the company has undergone a strategic transformation. Refocusing on music fundamentals, artist development, and content quality, YG has reestablished its position in the entertainment industry, even turning around its financial standing.

Following their album release, BABYMONSTER is currently engaging with fans through a series of 12 concerts across six Asian cities. TREASURE, on the other hand, is maintaining a busy year-end schedule with performances lined up for the 2025 SBS Gayo Daejeon and Japan Fuji TV’s 2025 FNS Music Festival in addition to MAMA.
With Yang Hyun-suk’s symbolic return and the global expansion of BABYMONSTER and TREASURE’s year-end performances, the 2025 MAMA Awards is shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated events of the year.
