In a YouTube video hosted by Shindong and Lee Jangjun, Yerin opened up about life behind the scenes.
Lee Jangjun introduced Yerin by saying, “She’s the K-pop female idol I know who loves alcohol the most. Her YouTube content is even called ‘Yesulga’ (a play on ‘artist’ and ‘alcohol’).” The two became close after appearing on various variety shows together. Yerin explained, “I was always part of the group’s variety team, so our shoots often overlapped.”

When Jangjun boasted, “I’ve even been to her house,” Yerin quickly clarified, “That was just for a ‘Yesulga’ shoot—don’t make it sound weird!” She also joked about their friendship: “He called me yesterday, and I didn’t call back because I didn’t see the point.”

Shindong asked Yerin what the most uncomfortable change was after starting solo activities. He expected her to mention meal or scheduling difficulties, but Yerin surprised him: “We never had those problems. We always ordered whatever we wanted individually breakfast, lunch, dinner even at home.”
She added that even their makeup schedule was handled fairly: “We used a ladder game to decide the order, spacing out three people with one-hour gaps. Everything had to be fair from start to finish. But those who went last had to wash their hair beforehand.”

Known for her laid-back and “cool girl” personality, Yerin admitted, “People always tell me to stop being so easygoing.” She reflected on how this perception once caused her anxiety, especially early in her career. “When I appeared on Running Man showing my bubbly side, I worried that people might only see that version of me. I’m actually more quiet than people think.”

When asked if she ever pushed herself too far for TV, Yerin responded, “These days, it’s okay to say you don’t have any special skills. But back then, we did anything we could to stand out to MCs.” She even demonstrated her old impression of the character Sha Wujing, a throwback to her variety show hustle.
Through honesty and humor, Yerin continues to charm fans with her authentic personality and grounded stories from her idol journey.
