Top K-Drama actress and singer Lee Ji Hye has surprised fans after openly sharing her experience with a philtrum shortening procedure, showing noticeable changes in her appearance.
Lee recently uploaded several photos on her personal social media account, giving fans a glimpse into her everyday life. Alongside the pictures, she wrote, “Lately, my daily life. There are so many things to be happy about. Fighting again today!!!! Just by existing, we are special.”
However, it wasn’t just her positive message that caught attention – fans quickly noticed that the space between her nose and upper lip appeared significantly shorter than before.
The actress had previously spoken candidly about her long-time insecurity regarding her philtrum. In a YouTube video, she shared about the procedure, explaining that after gaining confidence from a thread-lifting procedure, she decided to move forward with the surgery.
“A lot of people are getting philtrum reduction surgery these days. Honestly, mine was 4 centimeters. As I got older, it became even longer.”

While many fans praised the subtle change to her visuals, Lee also admitted that the procedure came with unexpected side effects. She revealed that her pronunciation was slightly affected and that the experience gave her a serious reality check.
“I realized that I shouldn’t get any more cosmetic procedures. If my daughters keep seeing their mom with bandages on her face, constantly changing, it could affect them too. That thought really woke me up.”
Lee Ji Hye, who married a tax accountant in 2017 and is now a mother of two, has been receiving support from fans for her honesty and transparency.
