According to The Sun, the upcoming drama The Hunting Wives is set to premiere on ITVX and is already causing major controversy ahead of release. Why? Because the series reportedly contains some of the steamiest and most provocative scenes ever seen on television, wrapped in a storyline full of seduction, betrayal, and psychological chaos.
The series centers on Sophie O’Neil (played by Brittany Snow), a woman who leaves her picture-perfect life in Boston for East Texas with her husband and son. Expecting a peaceful fresh start, Sophie instead crosses paths with her mysterious and dangerously attractive neighbor Margo Banks (Malin Åkerman) — a fateful encounter that pulls her into a world fueled by desire and thrill.

What begins as a seemingly harmless friendship quickly evolves into an intense, intoxicating relationship. Sophie gets lured into an elite circle of wealthy, powerful women who are addicted to excitement, pleasure, and excess.
Scenes teased in early previews show:
🔥 A group of women gathering, removing their tops to show lingerie, sharing fiery kisses.
🔥 Sophie engaging in a steamy bedroom scene with her husband — executed with raw, graphic sensuality.
Many viewers said it’s one of the rare times television explores female sexuality with such boldness and unapologetic intensity.

Before landing on ITVX, The Hunting Wives aired on Netflix and ignited fierce backlash. Some viewers slammed the script as “over-exaggerated” while branding the 18+ scenes excessive, vulgar, and morally degrading.
Harsh critics even labeled it:
“The most obscene TV series in history.”
Yet ironically, this rawness made it… even more watched.
One viewer snarked:
“If you want something crazy, shocking, easy to binge, and wildly chaotic — this is it.”
On Late Night With Seth Meyers, Brittany Snow revealed her emotional conflict when asked how she felt about her graphic scenes being seen worldwide — even by relatives:
“I’m grateful and excited for the release… but honestly, I’m also nauseous imagining my family watching those scenes.”
